1. General
These Terms and Conditions govern the supply of goods by ALEX TIMBER LTD to customers purchasing through our website or by direct arrangement. We reserve the right to update or amend these terms at any time without prior notice. The version in force at the time of your order will apply.
2. Orders
All orders are subject to acceptance and availability. After placing an order, you may receive an acknowledgement email confirming that we have received your request. This does not constitute formal acceptance of your order. Acceptance takes place only when the goods are dispatched or made available for delivery.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order where there is an issue with payment, pricing, availability, suspected fraud, or any other reasonable concern.
3. Prices and Payment
All prices displayed on our website are shown in GBP (£) unless otherwise stated. We make every effort to ensure that prices are correct, but errors may occasionally occur. If a pricing error is identified after an order is placed, we will contact you before processing the order.
Payment must be received in full before goods are dispatched unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4. Availability
All products are offered subject to stock availability. Where an item is temporarily unavailable or discontinued, we will make reasonable efforts to inform you promptly and offer an alternative, revised lead time, or refund where appropriate.
5. Product Information
We aim to ensure that all product descriptions, sizes, specifications, and images are as accurate as possible. However, natural materials such as timber may vary in colour, grain, finish, and appearance. Such variations are not considered defects.
6. Cancellations
If you wish to cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible. Orders that have already been processed, cut, prepared, or dispatched may not be cancelled or may be subject to cancellation and collection charges.
7. Returns and Refunds
Returns may be accepted at our discretion, provided goods are unused, in resalable condition, and returned within a reasonable period. Special order items, cut-to-size materials, or bespoke products are generally non-returnable unless faulty.
Refunds, where approved, will be processed using the original payment method. Collection and restocking charges may apply.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ALEX TIMBER LTD shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or financial loss arising from the use of our products or from delays, shortages, or delivery issues. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Delivery
10.1 We aim to deliver orders within approximately 1 to 3 working days from the time your order is received and payment has been successfully authorised. Deliveries are made on working days only, Monday to Friday.
10.2 Although we always try to complete deliveries within the expected timeframe, we are unable to guarantee a specific delivery date or time. Delivery delays may occur for reasons outside our control, and we shall not be responsible for any loss, cost, or inconvenience arising from such delays.
10.3 Where necessary for operational, logistical, or vehicle-related reasons, we may use an alternative delivery arrangement or method. Where appropriate, we will inform you in advance.
10.4 All deliveries are made on a strictly kerbside-only basis. Our drivers are under no obligation to carry goods beyond the kerbside or into any property, garage, shed, side access, or rear garden. Any assistance beyond the kerbside is entirely at the driver’s discretion and cannot be relied upon or guaranteed.
10.5 It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that there is safe, suitable, and practical access for the delivery vehicle. If access is considered restricted, obstructed, or unsafe, the goods will be unloaded at the nearest safe and accessible kerbside point.
10.6 Deliveries may, where appropriate, be completed without obtaining a signature. If no one is available at the delivery address, goods may be left at the property or agreed delivery point. Once the goods have been delivered, left on site, or otherwise made available at the delivery address, responsibility for them passes to the customer.
10.7 We strongly advise customers not to book tradespeople, fitters, installers, or any other third-party services until the goods have been delivered in full and checked. We accept no responsibility for costs, charges, delays, or losses resulting from postponed, partial, or delayed deliveries.
10.8 The customer must inspect all goods upon delivery and notify us as soon as possible if there are any visible shortages, damages, or issues with the order. Claims raised after goods have been used, moved, or altered may not be accepted.
